 How does it work

Today, most aircraft are equipped with transponders ADS-B that send locational information. Flightradar24 has a rapidly expanding network of more than 220,000 ground stations throughout the globe that take in this data which is displayed as moving aircraft on a map displayed in the application. In the growing range of locations thanks to multilateralism, we can identify the locations of aircraft that do not possess ADS-B transponders. The coverage of North America is also supplemented by real-time radar data. The coverage is dynamic and could alter at any point in time.
